“Kenpo is a precious gift that has been shared with you. The way you live your Kenpo is your Kenpo gift to those practitioners who come after.”

AKKI Members,

We anticipate a very large Las Vegas International Camp to celebrate our 11th year anniversary of the American Kenpo Karate International (AKKI) Association and hope you can join us to train for three days at Sam's Town.

I am very proud to be a part of such a great association surrounded by wonderful people and phenomenal martial artists. What a wonderful experience it has been for all of us who stayed the course over the past 11 years since the inception of the AKKI in 1997.

Before the AKKI was conceived, we were once called the Paul Mills Family Group. A group of martial artists who enjoyed each other’s company and professionalism training together throughout the country for over 25 years, including the Las Vegas seminars and camps.

Just reflect for a moment, how each one of you, have witnessed, our new students proficiency grow in the art. This is our statement, our stamp on the future, when wise and skillful instructors produce not only extremely knowledgeable and proficient Kenpo practitioners in the art of AKKI Kenpo, but have also taught their students many great values of character that will last for decades to come.

Reflecting back on the many years I have studied and trained in American Kenpo, I cannot help but think of all of the AKKI seniors who have sacrificed their time from their family members, friends, jobs, and other responsibilities we accept in life to help perpetuate the art of American Kenpo.

Many AKKI Seniors have studied the art of Kenpo for over 20 years. Some have even studied more than 40 years. These seniors have unselfishly donated their time and dedicated their lives to the betterment of AKKI Kenpo. They have truly given back to the art and shared their passion, wealth of knowledge and unbelievable skill to the new generation of students who are now starting their Kenpo journey.

Take a moment and quietly reflect back down memory lane when each of you started your Kenpo training. My “Kenpo Journey” started in 1966, 41 years ago, when I walked into an Ed Parker Kenpo Karate school located in Ogden, Utah. In 1968, I was so proud to teach my first group of white belts. Where has the time gone?

Do not miss this opportunity to celebrate the AKKI’s 11th year anniversary at our Las Vegas March 2008 AKKI Camp. See you there!

Respectfully,

President and Founder of the AKKI
10th Degree Black Belt
