Membership is open to those dedicated individuals who
wish to improve their understanding and application
of the art of American Kenpo as taught in the AKKI.
We do not discriminate against anyone, regardless of
race, sex or religion. Anyone has the right to apply
for membership. However, individual members must meet
certain requirements to join.
Membership Fees
The annual student membership fee is $25 for individuals*.
As a probationary member you will receive the following
welcome packet, which includes:
- Rocker Patch
- ID Card (front of card shown on the right)
- Mission Statement
- "The Glass Practitioner" - Poem suitable
for framing
- "The Bamboo Circle"- Leadership statement,
suitable for framing
*All students, 12 years and older, are required to
sign up and renew annually.
Internationally Recognized Rank
Paul Mills and the International Black Belt Board
of Examiners certify all black belt ranks within the
AKKI through clearly defined prerequisites. This is
to end questions of self-promotion, favoritism, watered
down standards for personal profit, or discrimination
of any kind.
- Black belt certificates are awarded with seal of
authenticity
- All active members receive specially designed AKKI
certificates at all local, regional, and international
promotions immediately after every test
- All current members receive annual ID cards with
rank verification and membership status (new card
issued with current rank at time of renewal)
Testing Opportunities
Our Testing Board consists of high ranking black belts;
including previous students of Ed Parker.
- Black belt testing opportunities available internationally
and colored belt tests provided locally at your studio
- You’ll have the opportunity to test with
people from all over the world
Members Only Seminars
- Members in good standing can attend the Las Vegas
camp held two times every year with specialized international
certificates of participation
- There are a minimum of 20 seminars at each camp
to advance and accelerate your understanding and application
of this art
- Opportunities for participation in all International
and national seminars and conventions conducted by
AKKI officials
Training Materials and Equipment
- Access to the most up-to-date training methods,
combat strategies and materials
- Access to specially designed AKKI training weapons
(club and knife)
- Only current members have access to updated AKKI
written materials.
