Teaching Patience, Takes Patience
By Paul Mills

As spring comes upon us once again, so does our Las Vegas Training Camp. With so many new Schools and students joining our Association, it is very important that we all learn to be patient, understanding and tolerant of everyone's weaknesses, yet also learn to acknowledge everyone's strong points. We must try to be loving, compassionate and forgiving of each other's acts, even if you disapprove.

Remember: Patience is the practical expression of faith, hope, wisdom and love. It is a very active emotion. Patience is emotional diligence.

Love people for their good qualities and forgive them for their mistakes. Accept people as they are, and the different environments to watch we have all been exposed, realizing each personality is a product of heredity and experience. Let us be the first to give a friendly sign. The first to nod, to smile, and if necessary, the first to forgive! Greeting each other with a smile, and a handshake is the beginning of a wonderful friendship. Remember, the key to happiness is love, understanding, tolerance and sympathy. Keep developing your true self, which can only be found on the inside, not on the outside.

Kenpo was designed to develop us spiritually and emotionally, as well as mentally and physically. I love you all and wish you the greatest success in your exciting journey through Kenpo and life. Hopefully, I can stir your imagination and touch your spirit through my teachings.

Again, I feel the need to extend my sincere gratitude to all of you who make the AKKI and the art of Kenpo what it is today!
